The Florida Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (FSCLS) announces the availability of scholarships to students currently accepted into a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) accredited clinical laboratory science program. These programs include and are limited to studies leading to certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Technician.

A total of two $500.00 scholarships will be awarded to the 2 most qualified students.

A completed application form, official transcript(s), three letters of recommendation, including a letter from the program director documenting GPA and academic status, must be received by April 1, 2010.

One recommendation must be from an accredited clinical laboratory science program official, one must be from an instructor/professor, and one may be a personal recommendation. The recommendations must be submitted by the issuer directly to the scholarship committee at the address below.

The selection process will include evaluation of all submitted materials: grade point average, a student member of FSCLS, work experience, financial need, extracurricular activities, a short essay on career goals, and recommendations. Each applicant must answer all questions accurately and completely. A typewriter or black ink should be used to complete the forms.

If you would like verification of receipt of your application, transcripts, and reference materials, it is recommended that you use return receipt request from postal services. In addition, you may enclose a stamped self addressed envelope or card with a note requesting that it be returned indicating the application materials received by due dates; this request will be fulfilled.
